A Word to the Wise

It's probably best to avoid watching the show Disappeared on Netflix while your fiance and roommate are at the movies.
Why, you ask?
I don't know about you, but I'm a paranoid person.
So when I watch these kinds of shows about people who have gone missing I start hearing noises.
Those are regular house noises, you say?
Nope, it's gotta be a murderer or a robber!
Which means I could end up just like the people on this show.
OMG!!!!

K, I can't do this anymore, I'm turning on some cartoons.

Guess what I did today?

I finally got to see Moonrise Kingdom!!!
I had to wait forever, but the movie finally got here and I loved it!
I'm going to be honest, this is the first Wes Anderson film I've ever seen....I know!
Seeing as I liked this one, I'll have to watch his others.
Also, it probably isn't going to surprise anyone, but other than the storyline my favorite aspect of the film was most definitely Suzy's wardrobe.
I mean, just look at these dresses!

Seriously, I need these dresses!
On that note, I'm off to scour Etsy and Modcloth for something similar.

Cheesy Horror Movies

This past Saturday our friend Kristin came by for a few hours and we watched two of the cheesiest horror movies I've ever seen in my life. Now, I'm not a movie buff to begin with, and even less so with horror movies, but these were ridiculous. And I mean that in a good way.

Exhibit A: Sleepaway Camp
3 sentence summary: A girl goes to camp. She gets bullied a lot. Weirdest ending EVER!
I'm not kidding...if you watch it you'll see what I mean.
Exhibit B: Slumber Party Massacre

3 sentence summary: Some girls have a slumber party. There is a killer with a drill. Most of the girls die.
So there you have it, two new movies to watch if you're in the mood for something especially horrid and cheesy. (Just a note: both movies have some nudity so keep the kiddos away while watching these.)
Let me know if you've seen either of these....what did you think?

Currently

I've seen this post on various blogs over the years but have never done it myself....until now! (I don't remember exactly which blogs, sorry!)

Obsessing over: Going for walks at night. It's been WAY too hot here lately...like 103 degrees hot. But when it's not I love walking with Justin around our neighborhood. I especially like spotting adorable dogs and cute babies...I just might have a touch of baby fever ;)

Working on: Making my little blog more attractive! I know next to nothing about html so I'm really limited on what I can do. I would love a custom design but feel like I can't really justify it when I'm pretty much the only person who sees it.

Thinking about: finishing reading Valley of the Dolls, I'm almost done. I wish the movie was still on Netflix because I would enjoy watching it again. Movies with era-specific outfits are my favorite, and this one is the epitome of 60s fashion to me...so many pretty outfits!

Anticipating: doing some shopping with my sister this afternoon. Payday, why are you still three days away?! I need my new clothes fix!

Listening to: the Best Coast station on Pandora....right now the song is Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear. I've never listened to them before and I'm enjoying it.

Drinking: So far I've only had water today, but I would love some coffee or soda.

Wishing:  That Justin and I were already married :) We're already pretty much there; we live together, pay bills, talk about everything, etc.

Real post later, but until then...

I wanted to make a post right now, but wouldn't you know, my mom has decided come down at the last minute? Normally I like visits from my mom, but today we have to talk about my student loans for about the hundredth time this month.

This will be my face as I'm on hold with the loan companies, listening to their horrid music.  (And no, I'm not really bald.)

Sunday

It's been a typical Sunday here at our house. My dad and brother came to visit earlier, along with my sister and her boyfriend. We went to Amigos for lunch. I had enchiladas and a taco; it was so good! After that we all went to B&N to look at books. I bought a book I've wanted for a long time, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. I remember reading it a few years ago and really loving it, so I'm excited to read it again. Then we stopped by Target and I found a cute skirt that I'll be able to wear to work...score! While waiting for the rest of the family to finish their shopping Justin and I got some coffee and chatted about our weekend. He was gone Friday and Saturday doing some ghost hunting. Some friends of his are the founders of CCPI, and they investigate abandoned/possibly haunted places. Too scary for me, so I never go, but I like hearing about it!

Here are a few pictures from today...

Before we left for lunch

Justin looking awesome
Sitting pretty at Starbucks
Best cookie crumble frap ever!
Justin and our roommate David are watching some Doctor Who now, so I'm gonna read my new book and kick back for the rest of the night.

Intro and such

First things first, my name is Stephanie!

I'm a 25 year old lady and I live with my fiance Justin. We are getting married sometime next fall and I couldn't be happier.

I work at a craft store and as much as retail can suck at times, I love my job and my coworkers.

I enjoy shopping for pretty dresses, Netflix, and sleeping. Other things too, but I'm too tired to think of what they are. Bedtime now, I'll be back tomorrow.
