The Sunday Currently #1

Linking up with Lauren for this post!

Currently
reading: Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I read her newest book, Gone Girl about a month ago and loved it, so I decided to check out her other work. And guess what, this one is just as good!

writing checks for bills that need paying. The joys of being a full-fledged adult.

listening: to Justin's workout playlist. I think I've succeeded in getting him hooked on pop music!

thinking: about how I need to have breakfast for dinner more often. Cheerios and orange juice, don't mind if I do!

smelling: rain, it makes everything smell amazing.

wishing: that my hair would be highlighted for free, without me having to do anything. I don't trust myself to do it, but I don't want to pay $$ either.

hoping: that we find a house to rent soon. The one we wanted didn't work out, so we're back to hunting.

wearing: sweats and a hoodie, comfort is key on Sundays.

loving: my new polos from Aero. Haven't had any since high school (that would be 8 years ago, for anyone who's keeping track) but today I suddenly decided I wanted to wear them again!

wanting: warm spring weather, not this weird 40 degree stuff.

needing: I'm actually pretty content at the moment. Give me some snuggles with my man and I'm a happy lady!

feeling: Relaxed. And like I need to get back to my book when I'm done with this.

clicking: this site, because I'm a nerd who can literally spend hours reading about urban legends.

Two posts in a week...say what?!

(no, this photo is not the least bit relevant to anything, but isn't it terrifying?!)

I know, I'm shocked too! But I usually catch up on my reading while my hair is drying, so I figured why not write something instead. Such a novel idea, aha!

So yesterday at work I had to take TWO written tests. One about cashiering and one about ordering. I passed both, but good grief, I'm glad I only have to take them once a year. I was reminded that math is definitely still a problem for me. Blah.

On my way to work today I'll be dropping off our application for a house we're looking to rent. I really hope it works out, it's super cute AND the landlord allows pets! So we could finally get a dog or cat! I don't think I can express in words how exciting this is to me! Fingers crossed all goes well with the application.

It's finally spring!

I never thought I'd see the day! Winter was dragging on for far too long. Now all we need are some flowers!

In other news:

~ Justin and I have set our wedding date for September 28th! So, so excited! Next on the agenda is figuring out invites. I have my eye on a few possibilities on Etsy, so we shall see!

~ My old car gave out, and I am now the proud owner of this!

It's taken some getting used to, going from a car to an suv, but I'm in love!

~ I just discovered the tv show Bones on netflix yesterday and oh my word, addicting. Why didn't anyone tell me about this sooner?! I like how each episode is a new mystery to be solved, and Bones/Temperence is such an interesting character. I'm hoping to find out more about her in later seasons. Oh, and of course I want to know if her and Booth ever get together! ;) No spoilers though please!

Alright, I'm going to go do some yoga and then get ready for work. Have a great week everyone!

Justin and I at lunch on Sunday

Thinking about- How happy I will be when it's the weekend again. I have to get my taxes done on Saturday (boooring) but then I'll have plenty of time to do whatever!

Reading- the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris...I wasn't sure I'd like these books, but I've been borrowing them from my friend Amanda and now I'm hooked! I'm on the seventh one (All Together Dead) and don't want the series to end

Listening to- Muse, Lumineers, and maybe a little Taylor Swift now and then.

Looking forward to- Our friend Kristin is having a baby girl in July and Justin and I are going to be godparents! I can't wait to have a little niece to babysit and spoil. It'll be good practice for when we have one of our own in a few years.

Watching- Lately it's been Gilmore Girls. I never actually watched the show when it was on tv, but it's so good!

Making me happy- how it's finally getting dark outside later, hearing birds singing, neon colors, pretty nail polish, my hair getting longer, Crest whitestrips, reading in the bathtub every night, statement necklaces, ordering things online and cupcakes.

Wedding planning galore!

Only 8 months to go until Justin and I get married! We plan to tie the knot sometime in October, hopefully the exact date will be set this weekend when we book our venue for the ceremony and reception.

Since I'm in full wedding planning mode these days, I thought it'd be fun to share some of my inspiration for the big day. I've been Pinterest-ing like a mad woman and I have so many things I want to incorporate, it's kind of crazy!

I would love to have a photo like this taken before the wedding!

This would be a nice way to have a cake and cupcakes at the same time.

I have a little suitcase that would be perfect for collecting cards...of course I'd make the inside all pretty instead!

So many balloons!

What a sweet idea, we could have something like this next to the guestbook.

It would be so pretty to line the aisle we walk down with these...purple flowers though!

Everything about this is perfection.

Back to my planning, have a great week everyone!

It's almost Valentine's Day

(not sure what's up with the formatting on this post, I keep trying to fix it and Blogger isn't letting me...that's why the fonts look all weird)

and because we're getting married later this year, I thought it'd be fun to share how Justin and I met and got to where we are now!

So back in 2009 I was going to school for art and taking what were called 'foundations' classes. One of the classes was 3D Concepts, where we had to make sculptures out of things. There were two guys that sat next to me, and they were always talking to each other and generally acting like fools. The one wasn't all that interesting, but the other caught my attention. His name was Justin. We agreed to go to lunch together at Pita Pit after class one day.

I had just gotten out of a relationship, and Justin still had a girlfriend at the time. We continued to hang out as friends for a few month. Then he told me he had broken up with his girlfriend and did I want to go on an actual date? Of course I did!

From then on we were inseparable. He came with me to family holidays....

We celebrated birthdays together (this was the year my birthday theme was 'Tacky Tea Party' not sure what I'm doing but yes, Justin is wearing a skirt)

We dated for a little over a year and then got engaged on October 15, 2010. It was such an amazing day!

We decided to have a long engagement because I was still in school at the time. So life went on, only now we were (and still are!) engaged.

Now here we are today! The wedding will be in October of this year, and of course I will have a post dedicated to that when the time comes.

I'll leave you with this gem of a photo.

If that doesn't say true love, I don't know what does!
